Education is the Institute's founding purpose
The Institute exists because a community decided that education would not be withheld from its children. That purpose still governs its work.
The educational legacy
For a century the Institute has been part of the educational life of Paarl — supporting schooling, further study and the people who made both possible. Generations of teachers, nurses, ministers, tradespeople and professionals passed through study that the Institute helped fund.
Current focus
- Bursary support for accredited tertiary study.
- Guidance and encouragement for applicants and their families.
- Partnership with schools, churches and higher education institutions.
- Preservation of the educational record for research and teaching.
